DIVORCE

Why file for a Divorce in Ohio?

When ending your marriage, it may not make sense to file a dissolution, it may make sense to file for a divorce. It may be because you are worried your spouse may be incurring unnecessary debts or he or she may have an addiction such as drug use, alcohol use or spending.  Upon filing a divorce in Ohio, an automatic temporary restraining order if filed with the Complaint for the Divorce to protect marital assets and restrain a party from removing a child from the jurisdiction.

You will also be able to request temporary orders in a divorce, asking the Court to order temporary spousal support, child support, payment of debts and parenting plans during the pendency of the divorce case.

Not all divorces need be contested, but if it becomes contested, it is helpful to have a skilled lawyer who will zealously represent your needs so your case can proceed as efficiently as possible.
